La historia comienza hace 100 años con el nacimiento de Frederick John Perry, en Stockport. Para celebrar el centésimo aniversario del nacimiento de su creador, Fred Perry desarrolló una colección limitada en su honor conformada por las clásicas chombas, con el laurel -símbolo de victoria e integridad- en un tamaño más grande y con la reseña del centenario por debajo. Convengamos que eso no es lo más llamativo de este festejo. Estas chombas ya son un clásico en el mundo de la moda y por más que se reinventen ya las conocemos. Lo que vale la pena resaltar es la sociedad que hicieron para esta ocasión con Vespa, desarrollando una moto edición limitada, que incorpora los colores clásicos de la Fred Perry y el logo en el frente. Una joya con motor; este no es solamente un objeto promocional, a partir del mes corriente (Agosto 2009) estará disponible en UK, USA, Francia y Japón.
